Dr. Sliter is Chief of the Physical Evidence Section at the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences where he directs the DNA, Firearms, and Trace Evidence Units. He previously served as Biology Unit supervisor and DNA Technical Leader. Dr. Sliter is Associate Professor in the Department of Pathology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. Dr. Sliter received his Bachelor’s degree from Harvard University and his Ph.D. in Developmental Genetics from the University of California at Irvine. Previously, he was Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology at Southern Methodist University. Dr. Sliter is a member of the Texas Association of Crime Laboratory Directors, the American Society of Human Genetics, the American Statistical Association, the Association of Forensic DNA Analysts and Administrators, and ASTM Committees E11 and E30.
