Robert Sailors has worked in the Forensic Biology Section of the Bexar County Criminal Investigation Laboratory as a Forensic Scientist since 1997 and as the Local CODIS (Combined DNA Index System) Administrator since 2003. He routinely performs forensic DNA casework providing scientific reports and expert court testimony for investigating agencies both within and outside of Bexar County. He is a board certified Fellow in Molecular Biology by the American Board of Criminalistics. He received his undergraduate degree in Biology from Texas Lutheran University in 1997 and his graduate degree in Biotechnology from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2003. He is a Federal Bureau of Investigation - Quality Assurance Standards for Forensic DNA Testing Laboratories (FBI/QAS) trained auditor, an American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors – Laboratory Accreditation Board (ASCLD/LAB) technical assessor, and a member of both the Southwestern Association of Forensic Scientists (SWAFS) and the Association of Forensic DNA Analysts and Administrators (AFDAA).
